We had a parent helper today - Brooke's mom, Rachel. Thank you Rachel!
Here is what we did today:
Choice Time: We went outside for Choice Time. We were surprised the weather allowed us to do this as the forecast sounded as if rain was a sure thing. It was windy outside and fun to see the leaves actually falling from the trees!
Circle Time: We sang Rise and Shine. We danced to Stop and Go. We passed around and discussed different fall leaves - some were red, some yellow and some were green and called needles instead of leaves. We read the book, "Leaves, Leaves, Leaves." Some questions to ask the children - What colors are leaves in the fall? (Yellow, red, orange, brown, purple and green) What makes the leaves fall to the ground? (wind and rain) What are some fun things to do with leaves? (make piles, jump in them, hide them)
Snack Time: Since it was Cooking Day, we popped our own popcorn using an old fashioned popper. All of the children were given an opportunity to see it being popped. Along with the popcorn, we had special bakery bread provided by Aiden's grandpa. Thank you Aiden! And we also had juice.
Center Time: All of the centers were open. There were leaves and ears of corn to look at with a magnifying glass. Several of the children enjoyed picking the kernels off of the ear of corn.
Have a great day! Pictures are below.
