October 11, 2016 Tuesday

Today we had a parent helper - Camille Johnson.  Thank you Camille!

Here is what we did today:

Choice Time:  We went outside for Choice Time.  This time of year, you never know what the weather will be so we try to go out as much as we can if it is nice outside.

Circle Time:  We sang Rise and Shine.  We danced to Stop and Go.  We passed around ears of corn for the children to see and touch and explained husk, silk, and kernels to them.  Then we read the book, "Time to Harvest." Some questions you can ask your children about the book - When is it time to harvest?  (fall)  What does harvest mean? (pick)  What does a farmer use to harvest corn? (combine) And what are things that can be harvested? (grapes, potatoes, corn, green beans, pumpkins, tomatoes, broccoli, apples)  Graham helped us count 7 bouncy balls out of the Mystery Bag.

Snack:  Graham brought applesauce and milk for snack.  Thank you Graham!

Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there were ears of corn and other things for the children look at with a magnifying glass.  Some of them enjoyed pulling the husks off of the corn.  It was harder than it looked and one of them thought scissors was needed.

Important papers went home today in regards to the school photographs.  Call if you have questions.

Sorry no pictures on the blog today - we were got busy playing.  Have a great day!
