September 21, 2016 Wednesday

Here is what we did today:

A spider has been hanging around on the outside of the preschool building for several days.  He has built beautiful webs that have been interesting to see.  Today the spider was on the window of the door we use to go to the playground.  We took a moment to watch him crawl up and down his web - very cool!

Choice Time:  We went outside for Choice Time.

Circle Time:  We sang Rise and Shine.  We danced to Stop and Go.  We read the story Butterfly, Butterfly by Petr Horacek.  This is a simple story about a girl named Lucy on a butterfly hunt.  Some questions you could ask about the story:  What are some of the things Lucy found in the story besides the butterfly?  (green beetle, ladybug, bumblebee, earthworm, spider, dragonfly, snail, caterpillar)  What was special about the butterfly at the end of the story?  (it popped out of the book and looked like it was flapping its wings)  After the story, Brooke helped us count 8 frogs from the Mystery Bag.

Snack:  Brooke brought cream cheese, pretzel bites and grape juice for snack.  Thank you Brooke!

Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there was painting at the easel.

Important papers went home with your children today - permission slips for the pumpkin patch, a note about picture day, and a note about the upcoming volunteer meeting.  Please read and return forms to us as soon as possible.  It really does help us keep things running smoothly!

Have a great day!  Pictures are below including one of our spider.
